If a man steal an [a]ox or a sheep, and kill it or sell it, he shall restore five oxen for the ox, (A)and four sheep for the sheep.

¶ If a thief be found [b]breaking up, and be smitten that he die, no blood shall be shed for him.

But if it be [c]in the daylight, [d]blood shall be shed for him: for he should make full restitution: if he had not wherewith, then should he be sold for his theft.
